Mr. M.Sankar, Director (Operations), LMW Limited, was conferred Honorary Membership of The Textile Association of India (TAI) during the 78th All India Textile Conference, held on November 21 and 22, 2025, at Hotel Le Méridien, Coimbatore.
The conference was organized by The Textile Association of India (South India Unit) in collaboration with the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC). The event saw participation from industry leaders, technical experts, academicians, and professionals from across the textile sector.
During the event, Mr. Sankar was awarded with the Honorary Membership of The Textile Association (India) for his valuable contributions to the textile industry. The award was presented by Shri T.Rajkumar, Vice Chairman, Council of Administration, SITRA, and Chairman, Sri Mahasakthi Mills Limited.
Mr. Sankar has been associated with LMW Limited since 1985, having joined the organization as an engineer in the Sales and Marketing function. He currently serves as Director (Operations) of the Textile Machinery Division at LMW Limited.
Born in 1957 and hailing from Pondicherry, Mr. Sankar completed his graduation in Textile Technology from AC Tech, Madras University, in 1980. Over the years, he has played a key role in strengthening LMW’s domestic operations and expanding its presence in international markets.
His professional experience includes leadership roles in LMW’s overseas subsidiaries. He served as a Director on the Board of LMW Textile Machinery (Suzhou) Co. Ltd., China, in 2008, and later as Chairman from 2015 to 2018. In 2022, he was appointed as Director of LMW Global FZE, Dubai, UAE, a wholly owned step-down subsidiary of LMW Limited. In 2023, he took on the role of Director (Operations) at LMW Limited.
In addition to his corporate responsibilities, Mr. Sankar has been actively involved in industry bodies. He is a former member of CII’s Textile Sub-Committee (Southern Region) and CII’s National Committee. Currently, he serves as a member of the CII Capital Goods Committee, New Delhi, Vice President of the AC Tech Alumni Association, and Vice Chairman of the INDIA ITME Society. He has also served as Past Chairman and Permanent Invitee of the Textile Machinery Manufacturers Association (TMMA), India.
With over four decades of experience in strategic management, sales, and marketing, Mr. Sankar has been closely associated with the textile machinery sector in India and abroad.
